Quick charging guide

Level 1 — any outlet

A standard 120V outlet adds roughly 6–8 km of range per hour. Fine for overnight top-ups and plug-in hybrids.

Level 2 — home & destination

240V stations add 30–50 km per hour — the standard for homes, workplaces, hotels and shopping centres.

DC fast charging

Highway fast chargers restore most of a battery in under 45 minutes. Check your plug: CCS1 and NACS are most common.

Which plug does my car use?
Most non-Tesla EVs sold in Canada use J1772 for Level 2 and CCS1 for DC fast charging; Teslas — and a growing number of other brands from 2025 onward — use NACS. Adapters bridge most combinations; check your owner's manual.
Is the station data live?
Locations and port counts are maintained by networks and station owners in the federal station locator. Real-time availability (whether a port is free right now) is shown in each network's own app.
How do I add or correct a station?
Station owners and networks submit updates to Natural Resources Canada's Electric Charging and Alternative Fuelling Stations Locator, which feeds this map.
